College Planning

Preparing for college is a matter of taking each phase step by step and working with professionals who are trained and available to assist you.

Many college bound people have many questions such as:

What college do I want to go to?

What are the requirements for college admission?

How am I going to pay for college?

What career path should I take?

…… and the list of questions can go on and on.

You have taken the first step because you are thinking about college.

The second step, third step and therefore, in no particular order, is to begin to do the following:

Think about what career path interest you.
Research various colleges which may be of interest to you and specifically look at the admission requirements, room and board, the college accreditation, and tuition cost.
Start thinking about how you plan to pay for college. Will you need financial aid? If so, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) ® is one of the most important forms you will have to complete to obtain federal grants, work-study, and loans.
Ask for Help! You can talk with your school counselor or your academic advisor. You can talk with the intended college of our choice registration office and financial advisors as well. There are other professionals who can assist you in your college decision. Once you begin your research, believe it or not, the mystery will become less scary and you will be on your way to the college of your choice.
